  1. One of the big reasons a lot of people don't take many risks in higher tier tournaments is that they don't want to risk losing a big chunk of rep. They may also stop playing tournaments entirely once they reach a certain tier. Both of those issues could be resolved if, at the end of a season, rewards are given out based on the highest rating a player reached during a season. Rather than what their current one is. This would mean once players reach their desired tier/rating, their achievements would be secure, and they have the rest of the season to either try and top it or just enjoy tournaments without worrying about what their rating is or will be near the end of the season.
  2. How cool would it be to have 2-4 Table tournaments!? Prominence can you make this happen?
  3. Five always felt like too many, even for totally unranked players. In almost every tournament I played in last season at least half the players were provisional. Now with only three provisional matches required, it feels like much less of a chore, and will hopefully mean more people getting their ranks and thus more silver and gold tournaments earlier in the season.
  4. The ranked tournament system is still broken. The major issue is still that the top ranked players cannot really move up because of the way the system determines matchmaking. Right now, Gold is the highest rank on Steam (a couple of people have eclipsed 1300 by a few points, definitely not enough to even attempt a full tournament). If I try to play rank now, I, as a Gold tier player, am forced to play with silver ranked and provisional ranked players only. This is because the matchmaking system has a flaw which prevents more than one gold player, but not enough for a full tournament, to play in the same game. If we have 2-5 gold players sitting in the lobby waiting on a game to start, the system will NEVER timeout and pull from the silver tier the remaining players. The only way that this works is for only one gold tier to enter, then, after some time, the system will drop the gold tier player into the silver ranks. What this means is that, as a gold tier player, if I choose to play a tournament, I pretty much always have to win to increase my point total. 3rd is a guaranteed loss of points. 2nd is iffy at best. Twice now, the game has said that I earned points for finishing 2nd place, yet the leaderboard did not update. Support says that they check this and I wasn't "supposed" to earn any points because I "chose" to play much lower ranked players. This also means that A) their is some sort of display error going on, or B) Support can't correctly figure out how the ELO system works in-game. Neither is beneficial to status of how rank should be working.
  5. Just wondering, do you have plans for multi table tourneys? 500 players type thing, we are really enjoying Prominence and would love to get into some big tourneys. Hopefully you consider this idea.
