LOL.   You're forgetting about WSOP FHP in 2014.

If you remember back to 2013-2014, we also had this *SAME* long discussion for that game too.

I know that ClearConscious remembers what I'm talking about, LOL.

Back in 2014, a member named ProdigalGil started *numerous* and *long* threads complaining about the RNG for WSOP FHP.

In fact, that discussion was so heated that he even tried to get Pipeworks to let him see the internal algorithm by offering to sign an NDA.

    So what's my point?

My point is that WSOP FHP had a *totally different* shuffling algorithm from PP ---- yet the same members started complaining that the RNG was artificially promoting river suckouts a high percentage of the time.

    Sound familiar?

It's the exact same thing you're all claiming today.

Yet the 2 games had 2 totally different shuffling algorithms.  LOL.

How can 2 totally different algorithms promote the *exact* same non-random event?  (river suckouts, but no other irregularities)

    What a coincidence.   🙂

That's what Mayor was trying to tell you.

Mayor was correct in saying that even if they changed to a totally different algorithm (or used real dealers to deal every hand, LOL) --- the same people would still complain of a rigged deck or a non random RNG whenever they suffer a bad beat by donks on the river.

ClearConscious and Mayor have shown us the results of 2 billion shuffles.  They didn't have to show us that data, but they did anyway.

Their data matches up perfectly with real life statistics.

    That's game over right there.

Mayor has proven his point and you have lost your argument.

Another thing...    Since you have 30 million chips and are a great player who is winning a lot more than losing, how can you claim that bad beats are happening a high percentage of the time?     If that were really true then you'd be losing your stacks a high percentage of the time and wouldn't be a winner overall.

Thus your own chip stack proves what Mayor has been saying ---- that the deck is statistically accurate and the bad beats you're experiencing are just NORMAL VARIANCE which happens on every poker table.

The game is awesome and fair.

That's why "Pure Hold'em" (the competition) has so few players that I couldn't even get a $1k table going without being assigned mostly AI-computer opponents to play against, LOL.    It's a ghost town over there at the Pure Hold'em tables.

Oh, and the new game you mentioned "Just Deal with It" (coming out in November) is not a serious poker game.   It's a silly "party card game" with several card games included, with a silly bright kiddie atmosphere.   You'll never get a serious poker following on that silly game.

Stop letting your emotions skew your logic.   This argument has been settled a long time ago.   2 billion shuffles proves the point.   Case closed.

    Oh. I remember 🤔

  2. Hey everyone,

We have a small update releasing later today on Steam that is a ranked lobby redesign.

    The changes are as follows:

    • Automatic matchmaking in ranked games has been eliminated. You can now choose to play at your tier or up to two tiers below.
    • Buy-in and Entry Fee are now different for each tier in ranked games.
    • You can now indicate your preferred venue in ranked games. Majority wins the venue choice.

    Thanks for your continued support!

We're hoping to have more information to share about a particular feature people have been requesting, but as of right now it's out of our hands.  Trust me, once we can share information, you'll be the first one to know :)

Just an update to let people know this issue is still affecting me, and I am still unable to start a game of poker.

Support has been utterly useless, telling me that they can not help. Although the support team stated it is a known issue I can not find anywhere that says a fix is being worked on.

I am still trying to start a game every single day, and will post again if the problem miraculously is fixed.

What's your NAT type? Could be a port issue.

  7. We've released a brand-new update for Prominence Poker on Xbox One & PS4.

Check out the list of changes below:

    • Adjusted loot case chip rewards and upgrade prices to match store prices.
    • Upgraded loot cases will never award duplicate items or nicknames.
    • Ranked tournament rating calculations are now based upon relative tier instead of precise relative rating.
    • The winner close up at the end of a hand is now shown only if the hand is interesting enough.
    • There are now roughly triple the number of win/lose reaction animations.
    • Some improvements to the nickname screen to make it more usable.
    • Lobbies now show a background image representing the chosen venue.
    • "Waiting for next hand" is now shown when you join a ring game in progress.
    • Fixed a bug that caused the bankroll shown while at the table to not immediately reflect the chips earned from a challenge.
    • Fixed a bug that caused the community cards in the HUD to get stuck showing the previous hand's cards until new cards are dealt.
    • Fixed a bug that caused the daily cut timer to be inaccurate and misleading.
    • Fixed a bug that caused the daily cut spinner sound to repeat forever.
    • Fixed various cosmetic bugs in the shell.
    • Many bug fixes to reduce server disconnections and improve stability.
    • Fixed a bug that caused your bankroll not to reflect your ranked tournament chip rewards immediately after claiming them.
    • REP received from sending gifts to other players used to be random. Now it's 10% of the gift purchase price. For example, if you buy a gift for someone for 150,000 chips you will receive 15,000 rep.
    • Fixed a bug that caused some instability during ranked tournament matchmaking.
    • The all-in close up is now shown for everyone at the table, not just for the player going all-in. However, it is only shown when the situation is interesting enough, which is not very often in practice.

  8. We will be updating Steam with the following fixes later today

The all-in close-up is now shown for everyone at the table, not just for the player going all-in. However, it is only shown when the situation is interesting enough, which is not very often in practice.

Fixed a bug that caused some instability during ranked tournament matchmaking.
Fixed a bug that caused a server disconnection and return to the title screen for a situation that should only show an error message without returning to the title screen.

    Thanks for the reports!

As it stands, there's nothing to spend money on in this game which I believe is hindering development, bc "money" is needed to "develop". Furthermore, unless the employees at Pipeworks are pouring their salary into the development process I could care less how much they make and where they live. If anything I want them to succeed even more.

We're all adults who have spending habits, so everyone knows what's up. All we can do is encourage this studio to produce the type of content we would like to see in future updates. If they didn't want members to express themselves there wouldn't be a forum. Furthermore, the status quo doesn't have to be accepted.

I get tired of people in this forum trying to shut me up and over thinking the comments I post. I'm not here to teach any of y'all a lesson about anything. I received a direct msg from a forum member earlier giving me advice on how to play poker. Their advice stemmed from a video or comment I made. Instead of getting an attitude I politely stated "thanks". Although, I don't mind "constructive" critic of my post regarding "improving the game".

I rarely see any of the forum vets expressing universal ideals to enhance the game. It's always "strictly personal" suggestions that are made with no examples to help others fully understand their ideals.

I wouldn't take it personal, this is good feedback.
