  2. Looking for more clarity with the in-game user interface? The development team has compiled some screenshots that should help give you better context into what everything means. That being said, the team is working hard on implementing a better first user experience.
  3. Frequently Asked Questions What is Prominence Poker? Some kind of video game? Prominence Poker is a free-to-play multiplayer online poker game that pits players from around the world against each other and devious AI, to build the rep, prestige, and bankroll needed to be, and beat, the best of the best. “Free to play?” What does that mean? You can play Prominence Poker for absolutely no money, if you can maintain your Bankroll at the tables. Don’t worry; if you go bankrupt we supply you with a steady flow of free daily chip allotments. This way you will never be down and out for too long. Give it to me straight, how much is this game going to cost me? The only real money transactions in the game are in the form of Chip Bundles. The purchase of these bundles is completely optional. Does that mean we’re playing poker for real money? Is that even legal? In Prominence Poker, you never play with real money. Prominence Poker uses a virtual currency called Chips that you can use to participate in games, and buy outfits and items for your character to use. You earn Chips by participating in and winning single and multiplayer games. You can use real money to purchase Chips, but you cannot ‘cash out’. Your purchased Chips will just allow you to purchase items and participate in games, just like the Chips you earn in game. Which variations of poker will be available in Prominence Poker? We feature Texas Hold ‘Em Poker. For the sake of argument, let’s assume I’ve never played Texas Hold ‘Em before. What do I need to know to play Prominence Poker? Since this is a Multiplayer game, some basic poker knowledge would be suggested so you do not become bankrupt at the tables. However we do feature Single Player Practice mode for beginners. This game mode does not put your hard earned chips at risk, but also does not reward any chips for winning. We also feature an extensive How To Play menu which describes all of the rules of poker in detail. Can you please explain Early Access? Are you offering players an incomplete game? Early Access is a Steam program that allows users to play games still under development. Our game is nearly complete, but we’d like to make sure the community enjoys all the features we’ve worked hard on, so we want to give you a chance to try the game and give feedback before we launch. During the Early Access period, not all features will be present, but we will be rapidly bringing additional features online as they are completed and vetted by the community. If I play during the closed Early Access test, will I get to keep my winnings once Prominence Poker has officially launched? Yes! There are no planned server wipes. What is Pipeworks doing to protect my virtual winnings from cheaters? We will have a 24 hour support staff ready to take all issues on a case by case basis. I don’t own enough Jimmy Buffett albums to justify my character’s Hawaiian shirt. How do I change their default appearance? Everyone begins in Prominence as a Tourist, that’s just how it goes. If you absolutely cannot stand the fanny pack life, well, we have a full Shop for you to customize your avatar as you see fit! Can I play Prominence Poker with my poker buddies who live down the street? What about across the country? What multiplayer options does Prominence Poker support? Indeed you can! There’s no local multiplayer, but as long as you and your friend both have access to the Prominence Poker app on Steam, you can play together. What about Steam functionality? Does Prominence Poker support friends lists? Trading cards? User-generated content? We’re starting our closed Early Access with limited Steam functionality, but as we progress we’ll be bringing a complete set of Steam functions online, including Friend invites, trading card drops, badges, community discussion pages, and achievements! What are the system requirements for Prominence Poker? MINIMUM: RECOMMENDED: OS Windows 7 and up (64 bit only) Windows 7 and up (64 bit only) Processor Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.6 GHz or AMD equivalent Intel Core 2 Quad @ 2.8 GHz or AMD equivalent Memory 3 GB 4 GB Graphics Nvidia GeForce GTS 450 or AMD equivalent GPU Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 or AMD equivalent GPU Will I need an Internet connection to play Prominence Poker? Yes, you will need an internet connection to play the game. How do I sign up for a Prominence Poker account? It’s as simple as downloading the game on the platform of your choice. Easy peasy. Who sees my sensitive credit card information if I purchase additional chips within Prominence Poker? Who ensures that my data is kept safe from would-be thieves? Valve, Microsoft, and Sony handle all that, just like when you purchase a game or virtual currency on any of those platforms. What platforms will Prominence Poker appear on? Computers? Consoles? Mobile? Web? Prominence Poker will be available on Windows PCs via Steam, and on the Xbox One and Playstation 4 game consoles in the near future. A Gold membership is required to play on Xbox One, and a Playstation Plus membership is required for Playstation 4. Who do I contact if I have problems with my Prominence Poker account? We will have a support service available 24 hours a day to handle any and all problems with the game. Just visit the Website, send them an Email, or call them on the phone and we will get your problem solved as soon as possible! · 505 Support (Website) - http://support.505games.com/support/home8 We’ve reached the end of the FAQ, but I still somehow have questions! Does Prominence Poker have a website, or forums that might offer more information? We sure do! 4. The general guidelines for the forum are listed below. Please be sure to follow these rules in good-spirit to ensure that you and your fellow users are engaging in healthy, productive, and fun discussions. General Forum Guidelines You may not post any message that is commercial by nature. These forums are for players only. No business or organization may create an account. You may not post any message that directs others to any pages at your own commercial domain, unless it’s related to the game franchise. Do not post using all caps or a text background, it makes content hard to read, and is against basic forum etiquette. Please stay on topic. Creating off topic posts diverts the purpose of the thread and confuses new readers. When creating a new thread, please avoid bringing up multiple unrelated topics at once. Instead, create individual threads per topic. Always show respect to your fellow users. Please no naming and shaming. Situations can arise in which a player or forum member can be wrongly accused. If you have an issue with a player or forum member, either report their post or share your issues with the moderation team through a personal message. You may not publish or discuss any information regarding your product or services, or future (possible) products or services, or any product or services you are, or have been, associated with. This includes, but not limited to suggesting your own services, or services of partners, clients, employers or friends unless otherwise stated. Be sure to use clearly written thread titles. A post with an ambiguous title will attract far less relevant replies in comparison to titles that give a clear description of the thread contained within. Please do not make a simple post just for the purpose of "bumping" a thread. Consider always adding more information or your personal touch on each response. Avoid posting the same messages in multiple forums across the board to widen the audience. In most instances, the forums are designed to reflect news and information specifically to single forums. If you feel the information is relevant somewhere else, be sure to cater that message to the different audience that might be visiting a separate forum category. Also avoid spamming your message multiple times in the same thread. Avoid vulgar language. This includes sound-alike and self-censored or abbreviated words. Avoiding generally offensive language is a demonstration of respect to the range of users visiting the forum. If you don't think a child should hear or say it, then it's probably not acceptable. Avoid personal attacks on others. A player’s passion for a game can run high, but that isn't a reason to target others in the heat of an argument. Death threats and other threats of violence to person or property in real life, directed either against individual users, moderators or administration of the project, are prohibited. Discussion of social, religious, political, illegal or other controversial topics that may create offense is prohibited. This includes but is not limited to negative portrayal of religious and political figures. Do not advertise your personal products, or the products of other companies. General discussion about other games and how they compare with Prominence Poker is acceptable within reason. We will never ask for your credit card information. Please don't post your personal info which includes your last name, email address, street address, or any other identifiable information. Do not request or advocate the use of software or methods that exploit, alter, or deconstruct related games. There are exceptions when it comes to mods. Do not discuss or advocate for cheating or any action that could be considered as such. Reporting and discussion of cheating methods will be allowed within reason. Do not distribute or request copyrighted content or links to copyrighted content, this includes but is not limited to soundtracks, games, movies, manga/comics, etc. Links to sites that contain scams, self-serving referral links, inappropriate content (i.e., pornography), or sites that attempt to compromise browser and/or operating system stability and security are strictly forbidden and will result in a permanent ban based on the severity. If you find a post that may be violating the forum guidelines, you may report the post by using the "Report Post" feature placed at the bottom of each post. We will take proper action based on the reported details, but please understand that details will not be made public. Do not create posts with the intention of undermining the authority of Pipeworks, and the Moderating Team in these forums. Each person is allowed only one account. Anyone found to have multiple accounts (spam) may be permanently banned from the forums. This includes creating additional accounts to circumvent bans. 10. Instead, create individual threads per topic.Always show respect to your fellow users. This includes, but not limited to suggesting your own services, or services of partners, clients, employers or friends unless otherwise stated.Be sure to use clearly written thread titles. A post with an ambiguous title will attract far less relevant replies in comparison to titles that give a clear description of the thread contained within. Please do not make a simple post just for the purpose of "bumping" a thread. Consider always adding more information or your personal touch on each response.Avoid posting the same messages in multiple forums across the board to widen the audience. In most instances, the forums are designed to reflect news and information specifically to single forums. If you feel the information is relevant somewhere else, be sure to cater that message to the different audience that might be visiting a separate forum category. Also avoid spamming your message multiple times in the same thread.Avoid vulgar language. This includes sound-alike and self-censored or abbreviated words. Avoiding generally offensive language is a demonstration of respect to the range of users visiting the forum. If you don't think a child should hear or say it, then it's probably not acceptable.Avoid personal attacks on others.
