We've released a brand-new update for Prominence Poker on PC, Xbox One & PS4. Big thanks to our community for giving us feedback and reporting any issues they came across, it definitely helps!
Check out the list of changes below:
Adjusted loot case chip rewards and upgrade prices to match store prices.
Upgraded loot cases will never award duplicate items or nicknames.
Ranked tournament rating calculations are now based upon relative tier instead of precise relative rating.
The winner close up at the end of a hand is now shown only if the hand is interesting enough.
There are now roughly triple the number of win/lose reaction animations.
Some improvements to the nickname screen to make it more usable.
Lobbies now show a background image representing the chosen venue.
"Waiting for next hand" is now shown when you join a ring game in progress.
Fixed a bug that caused the bankroll shown while at the table to not immediately reflect the chips earned from a challenge.
Fixed a bug that caused the community cards in the HUD to get stuck showing the previous hand's cards until new cards are dealt.
Fixed a bug that caused the daily cut timer to be inaccurate and misleading.
Fixed a bug that caused the daily cut spinner sound to repeat forever.
Fixed various cosmetic bugs in the shell.
Many bug fixes to reduce server disconnections and improve stability.
Fixed a bug that caused your bankroll not to reflect your ranked tournament chip rewards immediately after claiming them.
REP received from sending gifts to other players used to be random. Now it's 10% of the gift purchase price. For example, if you buy a gift for someone for 150,000 chips you will receive 15,000 rep.
Fixed a bug that caused some instability during ranked tournament matchmaking.
The all-in close up is now shown for everyone at the table, not just for the player going all-in. However, it is only shown when the situation is interesting enough, which is not very often in practice.

Those of you wishing you could dive into a game immediately upon firing up Prominence Poker should be pleased with today's update. Along with a handful of minor fixes and tweaks, we've added a Quick Play option to both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game.
Here's how it works:
At the top of the Main Menu, you'll now see an option called "Quick Play." If you click that option, Prominence Poker will add you to the first available game with minimal wait. By default, Quick Play will attempt to find tables with buy-ins that are 5% of your total bankroll, but if you'd prefer higher stakes games, you can change your Default Buy-in in the Game Options menu to any level from from 5% to 80%.
As always, the team behind Prominence Poker relies on your crucial feedback, so give Quick Play a try and let us know what you think!
A new season of Ranked Games in Prominence Poker starts in just a few hours, but before you all start attacking the leaderboards, we'd like to let you in on a few of the changes you'll see during the new season.
First off, our seasons have been extended. Instead of a single month, players now have two months before the leaderboards reset and start a new season.
Second, we've heard your feedback and have changed the points necessary to reach each ranked tier. This should make it easier to break into the higher tiers. Have a look:
Tier Old New
Bronze 0-1199 0-999
Silver 1200-1399 1000-1099
Gold 1400-1599 1100-1199
Platinum 1600-1799 1200-1299
Diamond 1800+ 1300+
As always, we'll continue to evaluate your feedback and make changes to the Ranked Games system, so please, let us know what you think, either in the comments below, or in the forums: http://www.prominencepoker.com/index.php?/forums/&%2Fforums%2F=
Greetings! We're happy to announce that a new patch for Prominence Poker will be available to download later today on Steam.
If you come across any isssues within the game please take the time to report them in the forums. We actively monitor and address the feedback!

Meet the Team is a regular feature in which we interview members of the Pipeworks team working on Prominence Poker to give you a brief introduction to the people working behind the scenes to maintain and improve your favorite poker game. Today, our subject is Geoff Rich, Art Lead.
Can you give us your name and title?
I am Geoff Rich, and I am the Art Lead on Prominence Poker.
Where are you from, and how long have you been working in games?
I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, and I’ve been with Pipeworks for a little over six years. I’ve been working professionally in the games industry since 2006.
What have you worked on in the past that people might know?
Before Pipeworks, I worked as a contract artist for a number of different clients. Some of the big ones were for Gearbox on Borderlands, Aliens: Colonial Marines, and Brothers In Arms: Hells Highway, and for Microsoft on Kinect Adventures.
Can you tell us what you do on the Prominence Poker team?
As the Art Lead, my job is to oversee all aspects of art production and the visual style for Prominence Poker. I work directly with the studio Art Director at a high level to set the visual style and quality bar for the project and manage a team of talented Character Artists, Animators, UI, and Environment Artists who do all of the hard work to make the game look great. I also work directly with the Leads in the other departments to ensure they get everything they need from the Art Department, and that my Artists get everything they need from the other departments.
What makes you passionate about working on Prominence Poker?
The Art team here at Pipeworks is incredibly talented and tight knit. Getting to work with these folks every day is a pleasure, and we’ve really made the development on Prominence Poker our own -- which is something anyone would be excited to continue working on.
What would you like to tell players about the future of Prominence Poker?
I’m really proud of all the work our team has put into Prominence Poker, but there’s plenty of room to expand the world of Prominence and the games we play within it. We love to hear what keeps bringing you guys back to the table and that feedback regularly enters into our development discussions and meetings, so be sure to let us know what you love, and what you’d like to see next!

Can you give us your name and title?
My name is Mike Kruse and I am a Senior Producer. Been here at Pipeworks for six years now.
Where are you from, and how long have you been working in games?
I am originally from the Bay Area in California. I started working in games in the early 90’s as a tester at the original Atari Games. Yup, that’s a [email protected]$$ time ago! I even have credits on some 8-bit console games, so you know I have seen a lot.
What have you worked on in the past that people might know?
I have worked on a wide variety of games in many different roles, but I will just list projects that I have either worked on in QA or as a Producer: Prominence Poker, World Series of Poker: Full House Pro, The Sims 2 Console, Gauntlet: Dark Legacy, San Francisco Rush: Extreme Racing, Primal Rage, Dr. Muto, and R.B.I. Baseball 4, to name a few.
Can you tell us what you do on the Prominence Poker team?
My role is to organize and track progress of the team against budget and schedule, and to ensure a timely, high-quality delivery at each milestone – and anything else that needs to get done! I am the administrator, and the interface between everything and the team. Sounds important, right?
What makes you passionate about working on Prominence Poker?
I have a very talented team. We are doing big things with very few people, and there is a level of passion about this Pipeworks-born game that keeps us motivated.
What would you like to tell players about the future of Prominence Poker?
I would like to tell them that we have only just begun! There are so many features and directions we can go with this game that the sky is the limit. We want to know what our users want to see!
We are absolutely flattered to have been awarded "Best Card & Board Game" of 2016 by the TrueAchievements community!
Instead of simply patting ourselves on the back though, we'd like to thank all of you for making this possible. We've said from day one that Prominence Poker is a collaboration between our developers and our players, and without your honesty, insightful feedback, and attention to detail, our game wouldn't be nearly as good as it is today.
That said, our best days are still ahead of us. Prominence Poker is a growing, ever-evolving game, and if you like what you've seen so far, we encourage you to stay tuned. We've got big plans for the future, and we look forward to hearing your thoughts as we continue to build the best poker game available!

We'd like to extend a massive congratulations to El Blakeo for being the first Prominence Poker player on Xbox One to reach the game's current level cap! Like all Xbox One players, El Blakeo started playing when the game debuted on August 16, and in the week since that time, El Blakeo not only reached level 310, but also reached Rank 3 in both Hearts and Clubs Affiliations!
How'd he do it? El Blakeo says the key is playing lots of $100 buy-in head to head games, always having a table item equipped for the 10 percent Rep bonus, and playing when the in-game events are offering even more Rep bonuses (see our Calendar for more info on that). He also says racing up the leaderboards against FIGMENT79, one of the other highest-ranked Xbox One players, helped to keep things focused. "She was definitely the hardest to best and inspired me to go all the way," El Blakeo told us.
Perhaps most impressively, El Blakeo did all of this without spending a single dime on Prominence Poker. Like we say, the game is free-to-play, but absolutely not pay-to-win, and El Blakeo's rapid leaderboard climb proves as much.
It's been about a week since Prominence Poker debuted on the Xbox One and we couldn't possibly be happier with how things are going. Players have been absolutely flooding into the game since the moment it was available for download, and we can't thank you enough for your support!
However, what we can do is share with you all some very important numbers that demonstrate exactly why we're constantly high-fiving one another here in the studio:
Number of Prominence Poker players on Xbox One who have already surpassed level 100: 28
Tournaments played since launch: 48,093
Chips spent on Avatar Customization items: 732,947,250
If those chips were stacked vertically, they'd create a tower that stretches 1,540 miles into the air, or could wrap around the moon almost 1.5 times.
Chips bet in multiplayer Ring Games: 2,856,552,433
That's enough chips to cover the entire length of the Amazon River 1.5 times over.
Like I said, these numbers have absolutely annihilated our expectations, and with the PlayStation 4 version of Prominence Poker launching today, the future looks very bright for our game -- which is good news for players, as it gives us more freedom to build on the solid base we've created with more content, more polish, and additional technical enhancements.
We'll have more on our future plans very soon, but for now -- and at the risk of sounding repetitive -- thank you all for enjoying Prominence Poker!
