Sevens over Fours

Recommended Posts

This has nothing to do with Prominence. It's just a general poker question and this is the only poker forum I frequent so I'll ask it here.

If someone said I had 7's over 4's what possible poker hands could I have? I'll explain why after your answers.

I think it refers to the first 2 cards dealt to a player in blackjack.   7 over 4 is a blackjack hand that represents a total of 11 and gives you the opportunity to double your bet before receiving anymore cards..

Sorry, I meant just in hold'em. And it's plurals over plurals, not singular over singular 😉

how about 3 7's and 2 4's?

Yeah, for a full house! That's what I grew up with. the term something over something (ie 7's over 4's in this case) meant a full house: 3 x 7's and 2 x 4's.

But have you heard that term being used for any other hand besides a full house (in hold'em!! 😁)?
