Forum Guidelines

The general guidelines for the forum are listed below. Please be sure to follow these rules in good-spirit to ensure that you and your fellow users are engaging in healthy, productive, and fun discussions.
 
General Forum Guidelines

  • You may not post any message that is commercial by nature.
  • These forums are for players only. No business or organization may create an account.
  • You may not post any message that directs others to any pages at your own commercial domain, unless it’s related to the game franchise.
  •  Do not post using all caps or a text background, it makes content hard to read, and is against basic forum etiquette.
  • Please stay on topic. Creating off topic posts diverts the purpose of the thread and confuses new readers. When creating a new thread, please avoid bringing up multiple unrelated topics at once. Instead, create individual threads per topic.
  • Always show respect to your fellow users.
  • Please no naming and shaming. Situations can arise in which a player or forum member can be wrongly accused. If you have an issue with a player or forum member, either report their post or share your issues with the moderation team through a personal message.
  • You may not publish or discuss any information regarding your product or services, or future (possible) products or services, or any product or services you are, or have been, associated with. This includes, but not limited to suggesting your own services, or services of partners, clients, employers or friends unless otherwise stated.
  • Be sure to use clearly written thread titles. A post with an ambiguous title will attract far less relevant replies in comparison to titles that give a clear description of the thread contained within.
  • Please do not make a simple post just for the purpose of "bumping" a thread. Consider always adding more information or your personal touch on each response.
  • Avoid posting the same messages in multiple forums across the board to widen the audience. In most instances, the forums are designed to reflect news and information specifically to single forums. If you feel the information is relevant somewhere else, be sure to cater that message to the different audience that might be visiting a separate forum category. Also avoid spamming your message multiple times in the same thread.
  • Avoid vulgar language. This includes sound-alike and self-censored or abbreviated words. Avoiding generally offensive language is a demonstration of respect to the range of users visiting the forum. If you don't think a child should hear or say it, then it's probably not acceptable.
  • Avoid personal attacks on others. A player’s passion for a game can run high, but that isn't a reason to target others in the heat of an argument. Death threats and other threats of violence to person or property in real life, directed either against individual users, moderators or administration of the project, are prohibited.
  • Discussion of social, religious, political, illegal or other controversial topics that may create offense is prohibited. This includes but is not limited to negative portrayal of religious and political figures.
  • Do not advertise your personal products, or the products of other companies. General discussion about other games and how they compare with Prominence Poker is acceptable within reason.
  • We will never ask for your credit card information.
  • Please don't post your personal info which includes your last name, email address, street address, or any other identifiable information.
  • Do not request or advocate the use of software or methods that exploit, alter, or deconstruct related games. There are exceptions when it comes to mods.
  • Do not discuss or advocate for cheating or any action that could be considered as such. Reporting and discussion of cheating methods will be allowed within reason.
  • Do not distribute or request copyrighted content or links to copyrighted content, this includes but is not limited to soundtracks, games, movies, manga/comics, etc.
  • Links to sites that contain scams, self-serving referral links, inappropriate content (i.e., pornography), or sites that attempt to compromise browser and/or operating system stability and security are strictly forbidden and will result in a permanent ban based on the severity.
  • If you find a post that may be violating the forum guidelines, you may report the post by using the "Report Post" feature placed at the bottom of each post. We will take proper action based on the reported details, but please understand that details will not be made public.
  • Do not create posts with the intention of undermining the authority of Pipeworks, and the Moderating Team in these forums.
  • Each person is allowed only one account. Anyone found to have multiple accounts (spam) may be permanently banned from the forums. This includes creating additional accounts to circumvent bans.
  • Do not discuss moderation decisions publicly in the forums. If you have an issue with a decision, please send a personal message to a Community Manager or Moderator.

Profile and Signature Guidelines
 
The custom user title, location field, profile picture, and signature options are edited via your Profile.

  • URLs or other forms of advertising (phone numbers, plans, contact details, etc.) are not allowed in custom user titles or names, which are limited to 25 characters. Also, you may not use custom titles or usernames to impersonate, or attempt to impersonate, Pipeworks staff or other forum members.
  • Your location field cannot include URLs or other forms of advertising.
  • Profile pictures cannot include sexually explicit or graphically intense images.
  • Profile Summary (and all other modules) cannot include or link to illegal content, harassment, sexually explicit, or other non-family-friendly content.
  • Signatures:
      Available after 50 posts on the site.
      May contain a maximum of one smile.
      May include one clickable link.
      May include one color, plus white.
      Maximum font size cannot be larger than normal.
      Must be kept to a maximum of four lines when viewed at 1024x768 resolution using the horizontal postbit.
      May not contain links to other threads or posts. Using your signature for self-promotion is prohibited.
      Please keep special characters to a minimum.
      Any signature that is offensive in nature is prohibited.
      We reserve the right to ask you to change and/or remove your signature at any time, for any reason.

Additional Information

  • Pipeworks and the Moderating Team may either edit or delete posts that violate forum guidelines. Any posts not meeting these guidelines may be removed with or without notice.
  • Posts in response or related to an edited or deleted post may themselves be edited or removed.
  • Do not remove any Moderator edits or attempt to re-edit any text that was replaced with {MOD REMOVED}. This also includes any notes or explanation of changes that were added by a Moderator.
  • We do not remove posts or accounts on request.
  • These are guidelines and as such are not meant to be all-encompassing. Pipeworks and the Moderating Team reserve the right to remove any content they deem unacceptable. If you have an issue with any moderation action taken then please contact the Moderating Team directly through personal message.
  • If you bring suit, propose to sue, or infer legal action, your account may be disabled and any related accounts may face restrictions.
